Hey…
I know it’s been entirely too long since I’ve last made a post on this here blog. Please forgive me! Since my last post, I’ve been in Los Angeles and hit the ground running. I haven’t abandoned my Atlanta roots by any means, but I’m working on a fabulous show!

The West Coast Premiere of “The Women Of Brewster Place” the musical. You may remember when Oprah Winfrey did this movie back in the 80′s. I loved the novel and movie and was elated when I got cast.
We opened on April 23rd, and we have been getting excellent attendance and reviews.

If you are in the LA area, please come check me out doing my thang! I have a BIG juicy role. I'm sure you will enjoy!

I made a new friend today. From St. Louis…to Italy…to the big lights of New York City…is Ms. Hettie Barnhill!
This talented young lady is one of the featured performers in the Broadway hit, FELA!
It was such a pleasure to talk to this sweet young lady. We’ve had some similar experiences in the industry, but she was able to enlighten me on some things. I hope you enjoy this 2 part series.
Please support FELA! on Broadway if you are able to.

“You are not alone…”
That’s what I felt like after talking with this talented sista in New York City the day after Thanksgiving. Tennessee native Lauren De Veaux is a dancer first…actress and singer second. Her performance in the new Broadway hit FELA! is amazing. In this interview I learned so much about her past and the experiences that make her so special. Enjoy this two part series and please tell a friend! Visit Lauren online: http://www.ladeveaux.com

I had the pleasure of taking a cruise my second week in Anchorage, Alaska. We drove 2 hours away to Seward, Alaska and caught a boat. The cruise was 9 hours long!!!!!!! It was worth every penny and every hour. Please watch the entire video to get a glimpse of what I experienced.

Some say if you want to make it as an actress you’ve either got to be in New York or Los Angeles. I’m inclined to agree.
I’ve been living in Georgia on and off since the 90’s and have had the opportunity to experience many things. Being the bigger fish in a smaller pond has its perks. You’re able to hone your craft and make a name for yourself on a local level. I’ve been able to be in movies and theatre that probably would have been much harder had I started out in New York or LA. I think it’s always better to head to one of those cities once you have a resume on you already. Just starting out in those markets is extremely hard and frustrating.
With that said, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time for me to make the to move to Los Angeles. I want to make some contacts there and take my career to the next level. I plan on keeping my contacts in Georgia (they were hard to get ya know) and doing the bi-coastal thing. I love living in the south, but I know it is time.
I’m originally from Bronx, New York and I’m not in too much of a rush to head back to the hustle and bustle that only New York has. When I performed on Broadway last summer with “The Lion King” I dreaded having to take the train and deal with all of those New Yorkers day to day.
I’m excited about Los Angeles and all of its possibilities. I’ll be essentially starting from ground zero. I’ll have to search for agents, managers and workshops so that I’m able to network. I’ve learned from other actors and actress that you’ve got to do your own homework. Don’t just wait for your agent to call you.
I’ll be doing some video postings on my agent search. Perhaps you might be looking for the same thing as I am.
I’m truly going on faith that this next step is right one. The journey continues!!!
Until next time, stay inspired.
