I am so honored to be recognized for my work and I thank all of you for your support over the years.
I’ve been out of the loop lately…its because I’ve been in Las Vegas performing in “The Lion King.” This time around I’m in the ensemble and understudying the role of “Nala” (see pic.) So much fun. I’ll be here until January…then back to Hollywood!
I met Sindbad at a press event in Beverly Hills earlier this month. He was so funny and so nice.
I’m so excited about my latest venture: SUMMER OF LOVE. It’s a world premiere and its been a blast creating this character and working with the super talented and kind, Roger Bean. The entire cast is wonderful and we’ve already bonded and are working toward a GREAT production!
My character is SAIGE…and I get to wail in this new groovy musical!
Greetings to all of my beautiful friends out there!
Just a quick note to let you know I just finished filming “September Morning.” This film is set in 1864 and tells the story of a young boy who is dealt a very hard task. He meets a special man along the way and learns many life lessons. My character, RACHEL was the main female in the movie. It was a great outlet to show off my dramatic side. This movie will be submitted to film festivals and is directed by the talented, CHRIS ESKA.
Greetings to all of my beautiful friends out there!
News alert! I’m starring in a musical out here in Los Angeles called “ADDING MACHINE.” It opens on Saturday, January 22nd at the ODYSSEY THEATRE. I play the role of DAISY, who is hopeless romantic. It’s a great part with some great songs.
The Adding Machine is a 1923 play by Elmer Rice, and is generally considered to be the first American Expressionist play. The story focuses on Mr. Zero, an accountant at a large, faceless company. After 25 years at his job, he discovers that he will be replaced by an adding machine. In anger and pain, he snaps and kills his boss. He is then tried for murder and is found guilty. He is then hanged and wakes up in a heaven-like setting known as “The Elysian Fields.” Mr. Zero then begins to operate an adding machine, until Lieutenant Charles, the boss of the Elysian Fields, comes to tell Zero that he is a waste of space and his soul is going to be sent back to the earth to be reused.
In 2007, the play was adapted into a musical entitled Adding Machine with a score by Joshua Schmidt and book by Jason Loewith and Schmidt. The musical debuted in Illinois at the Next Theatre Company in 2007.
We run until the end of March, so if you’re in the Los Angeles area, come check me out.
Last Monday, January 17, 2011 I had the pleasure of attending the Los Angeles Ovation Awards. In Los Angeles there is a great organization called The LA Stage Alliance. This organization acknowledges the theatre community with an annual awards ceremony. Many shows keep their fingers crossed in hopes of being nominated.
As you may remember, last year I starred in a wonderful production: “The Women Of Brewster Place.” For my role as Lorraine, I won the StageSceneLA award for “Best Featured Actress In A Musical.”
Later we found out the entire cast and the show was nominated for 4 Ovation Awards!!!
Anyhoo…we went to the ceremony and I felt like a superstar! We walked away with 1 of the 4 awards were nominated for: “Best Production Of A Musical – Intimate Theatre.” What a thrill.

Uzo Aduba was introduced to me from my friend Saycon Sengbloh. She told me I just had to connect with this talented sista named Uzo. Well, Uzo and I met up during a dinner break she had and we had a chance to talk and learn about each other. We spent the hour talking shop and then finished with this great interview.
She is currently performing with the new musical “Venice” in Culver City, CA. If you are in the area, go check it out!
