So it’s 1:27am in Seattle…I’m listening to “This Is Not A Love Song” by UK artist, Omar. Thank goodness for this blog I found…www.eccentricsounds.com/wordpress

I’ve been looking for his music for a while…

Anyway, I said all that to say I got motivated to write in my blog.

My stops are: SEATTLE, EAST LANSING (Michigan) & OKLAHOMA CITY.

So if you’re in the area, come check me out!

Seattle has been kind to us as far as weather is concerned. Not too much rain or snow. But my legs are getting the workout of a lifetime with all of the HILLS they have here! LOL

My BROADWAY debut

June 24th, 2008 by Christine Horn (Your Favorite Tall Black Actress)

Greetings,As you know, I’ve been touring with Disney’s “ The Lion King” since 2006. The tour I was on closed on March 3rd. I’ve been enjoying my time back home in Atlanta, working on music and acting. As I was prepping for my welcome back party this Wednesday, I got a phone call that made my dreams come true…I MADE IT TO BROADWAY!!!

Ever since I was little, all I ever wanted to do was sing and act. My mother Valerie took me to see all kinds of shows and put me in dance classes. Never forced…I loved every minute of it. I was always an “artistic type”…maybe because I’m a Sagittarius…maybe because I grew up an only child for 15 years and constantly talked to myself…who knows. LOLTo make a long story short, I’ve re-joined my “Lion King” family in New York City on Broadway. I’m filling in for a cast member on medical leave. Though this is a temporary arrangement…I’m proud to say I MADE IT! If I died tomorrow, please know that I lived a FULL life and fought long and hard for my dreams. FREE SHOW IN ATLANTA THIS WEDNESDAY, June 25thVisit http://www.chocolatesuperstar.com/ for details if you forgot…Do me a favor…take two minutes out of your busy schedule today and think about your dreams. What was it that you said you ALWAYS wanted to do? Are you close to doing it? Never let your FEAR stop you. Stop listening to those folks who say you can’t do it, because they speak from their own FEAR. Regardless of what ANYBODY says, dreams DO come true.Until next time…

Stay inspired,Christine Horn

Greetings from Atlanta!I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve written. So here goes…I have finally returned to Atlanta after a long stint with Disney’s “The Lion King.” I left on July 5, 2006 to embark on what became the job of a lifetime. I met the most wonderful group of people, got to sing, act and dance EVERYDAY! It was a dream come true. I was not in New York but on the national tour. We moved every 4-6 weeks.

Where I went…

I must say my favorite places were Denver, Houston and St. Louis. There was such culture there and a great music scene! Many of you living in Atlanta may be wondering if I’m performing with the show that is coming to the Civic Center this month. The answer is “NO. I wish.” LOL Actually the tour I was on closed on March 3rd. So the cast have all gone home to their respective cities or to a different company. What’s next?

I’m RECORDING! Yes, I am soooooooooo excited to say that I have started recording my 3rd album. If you didn’t know I had 2 out already, shame on you! :O) You can get caught up by checking me out online. This next project should be interesting since I’ve experienced so much since the last album, “THERAPY.” So look out for it this summer!Where can you get the other albums?I-Tuneshttp://www.chocolatesuperstar.com/http://www.cdbaby.com/Moods Music (Atlanta)Armand Records (Philadelphia)Reflection Emporium (Massachusetts)Dusty Groove (Chicago)It’s been so nice catching up with you. Greetings From Cleveland

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know what’s new in my world. As you probably know by now, I’ve taken a break from being the R&B Alternative to perform with the Cheetah National Tour of Disney’s THE LION KING. I was cast as a singer in the ensemble and I am also an understudy for the lead role of Nala and Sarabi as well. I’ve been on the road since last July and have been having a blast!THE GOOD NEWSI was just offered to actually play the lead role of NALA for 7 weeks for the Gazelle National Tour for their current leads leave of absence! This is a major deal for me and I am so excited and honored to have been chosen. Aside from it being a great resume builder, I get to have a lot more time to play with the character and meet a totally different cast! After my 7 weeks, I will return to my original duties with the Cheetah Tour. The Gazelle Tour has been doing more of the East Coast dates that you’ve probably heard about (Florida, Charlotte and is scheduled to come to Atlanta in 2008.)In case you are in the city or have family or friends planning on coming to the show, here is my performance schedule:Memphis, TN – September 13 – 16thDallas, TX – September 18 – October 22ndMinneapolis, MN – October 23 – 28thRECORDING NEWSI have been coming home to Atlanta periodically and have finally begun production on the next two albums. It feels so great to be back in the studio and working my writing muscle again! I can’t wait until I can give you a sample of what’s to come.

Until next time…

Booked a Gig With: The Lion King

July 6th, 2006 by Christine Horn (Your Favorite Tall Black Actress)

I recently got some very exciting news. I have just been added to the Cheetah Company National Tour of Disney’s “THE LION KING!” I left for Houston, Texas yesterday and will be starting rehearsals in a few days. Until then, I will just be watching the show each chance I get.For all of my frustrated actors out there….I was totally shocked that I got this call because I auditioned for THE LION KING in Atlanta about 3 years ago and never heard anything back from them. Then about 3 months ago, DISNEY called my agent and I flew to New York to auditon for one of the tours. I got back home and was told that I did not get the part…but I was next in line if the girl they offered it to turned it down.So I put it out of my mind (as we performers tend to do so we don’t go crazy thinking about every audition) then all of a sudden a week and a half ago…I get a call saying they wanted me…and I had to be ready to leave on July 5th.So…every Casting Director isn’t lying when they tell you that they’re going to keep your headshot on file. It took three years…but I’m HERE!I’ll post my touring cities for the next year on my EVENTS page…maybe if you’re nearby, you can check us out!By the way…I’ve been cast in the ensemble as a singer and I also understudy the female leads, NALA and SARABI.
